All-Ireland Beach Clean
The first ever all-Ireland beach clean in conjunction with Flossie & the beach cleaners
July saw the first ever all-Ireland beach clean and we were delighted to take part! 73 groups with over 680 volunteers across Ireland signed up to take part in a co-ordinated beach clean on Sunday 30th organised by Dublin-based Flossie and the Beach Cleaners.
Eco Rangers NI crews from Larne, Carrickfergus and Ballynure worked together to clean six beaches in the area during the two-hour event before meeting up at Brown’s Bay for a cookout. We also had a small outreach crew collecting in County Armagh to ensure all 32 counties were represented in the event.
Across Ireland, over 2200kg of waste was collected, with the Eco Rangers County Antrim crew accounting for 214.5kg of that, making ours the fourth heaviest weigh-in after Co Dublin, Galway and Cork.
