Dalfest 2023

Eco Rangers return to support County Antrim's largest music festival again this year.

After the huge success last year, Eco Rangers NI were delighted to support Dalfest, Northern Ireland’s biggest family festival of music and food for the second time. This year, our volunteers provided all the litter support on site for the entirety of the festival.

The weather was a bit of a mixed bag, but the crowds, music and general atmosphere more than made up for it! Somehow litter picking in the rain is a lot more fun when you are with a group of like-minded friends, wearing sparkles and listening to Sam Ryder, the Vamps and Scouting for Girls! We were delighted with the incredibly warm reception we had from festival goers who embraced the general craziness of our tangerine-clad dancing litter picking crew and even joined us in the odd late-night litter picker congo line!

Dalfest is a huge amount of work for us as a volunteer group; there were weeks of preparation and many, many late night messages and hard work throughout the weekend itself for our admin crew to get everything right, but it was definitely worth it! We had over 40 volunteers working in shifts all weekend to keep the festival litter free; everyone had access to our welfare tent to store their belongings, to take a short rest and meet up with fellow volunteers during their shifts and of course, to eat and drink the many delights offered by our volunteer catering crew.

We’re looking forward to doing it all next year – roll on 20th July 2024!
